Care300® improves glucose management. Its mechanism of action in SIRT1 and AMPK modulation has been analysed in in-vitro studies. Its benefits have been confirmed in a chronic gold-standard clinical study.

Characterisation

Care300® is a standardised whole fruit powder of mango Mangifera indica L. obtained from the subspecies Totapuri (a.k.a. Kili-Mooku). It is cultivated in the Tamil Nadu region of India, at a specific degree of maturity, when the content of secondary plant compounds is high.

Mechanism of action

Care300® modulates SIRT1.  

Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is a key master switch enzyme for energy homeostasis and cellular metabolism, cell protection, and longevity by increased mitochondrial metabolism, thermogenesis, and antioxidant protection.

Caloric restriction or physical exercises activate SIRT1, physiologically.

      

Care300® activates AMPK.

AMPK is an enzyme that plays a role in cellular energy homeostasis, largely to activate glucose and fatty acid uptake and oxidation when cellular energy is low.

  • All three batches of Mangifera indica L. fruit powder showed reproducible activation of AMPK.
  • Care300® is able to activate AMPK by more than 50%.
  • Mangiferin is one of the actives in Care300® contributing to AMPK activation.

Care300® provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

  • Care300® stimulates SOD (superoxide dismutase) by more than 45%.
  • Care300® has anti-inflammatory effect by inhibition of IL-6, TNF-alpha release and COX 1 / 2 activity.

Care300® regulates fasting glucose and insulin.

Care300® normalised fasting glucose levels to NFC levels with lower fasting insulin levels, providing protection against this high-fat diet-induced increase in insulin resistance as reflected in the statistically significant reduction in the HOMA-IR score between T2 and HF control groups.

Care300® significantly improved HOMA-IR index, an index for insulin sensitivity.
